This site is for students preparing to take the Cambridge English Exams First Certificate (FCE) and Advanced English (CAE).
Currently this site contains access to two practice tests. These are official Cambridge tests.
Students can take the tests and keep track of their scores if they login.
Online Practice Cambridge Exams
Welcome to David Jones's online Cambridge Exams. This website contains several complete Advanced - CAE and First FCE Cambridge practice exams.
The exams are presented in the same format as the Cambridge Exams. The exams are also timed the same as Cambridge and at the end you are given a score on the Cambridge scale, indicating if you would pass or not.
After practicing, you have the opportunity to try again any incorrect answers which is not available on the Cambridge exams. The exams are also based on the official Cambridge practice exams available from the Cambridge website.
The website involves the opportunity to log in. There are two benefits to logging in. Firstly you can record all your exam results and see your progress. Secondly, you need to be logged in to mark the writing exams. This is because the writing exams are emailed to David in order to be marked who needs an email to return the results to.
These exams are for all students preparing for the Cambridge Exams. It is also useful for other students to evaluate their English level. The results given are also represented on the European Common Framework.
The key to learning English is practice. The more practice a student can get the better, this involves reading English books, listening to English radio, speaking to native speakers. These exams provide some practice but students should be accessing as much English as possible. These exams add to a student's learning but don't replace it fully. Explanations of the answers will be added to the website later with full explanations of grammar and vocabulary.
